Kara Cary

Hi, I'm Kara, and I'm so glad you are here!

I’m married to my high school sweetheart, Stephen, and together we’re raising our two children just outside of Atlanta. I love coffee and playing sports with our kids. When I'm not writing or teaching women's Bible studies, you can find me on a soccer field cheering on our kids!

My undergraduate degree is in business finance; however, I ended up working in education until we had our daughter. After our son was born, I spent several years running my own calligraphy business, focusing on the wedding industry, until the Lord led me to seminary. I earned a master’s degree in Biblical and Theological Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary, with a concentration in women’s Bible study, women’s ministry, theology, and Scripture.

I’m passionate about equipping women to study the Bible for themselves with confidence, depth, and delight. For over 20 years, I’ve had the joy of leading small groups, teaching, and facilitating Bible studies in a variety of settings. That passion began to grow early in my marriage and in the trenches at home with little ones. In that season, God gently and persistently pressed it on my heart to step out in faith and pursue further equipping, which is what led me to Dallas Theological Seminary.

My desire is to encourage women in every stage of life and place in their faith journey to prioritize time in God’s Word, trusting that Scripture truly has the power to transform hearts and lives. I love equipping women to study the Bible with confidence, training women to teach God’s Word in Bible study settings, and preparing small group leaders to facilitate rich, healthy discussion.

I began writing Bible studies for the women in my home church when I saw a need for purely inductive Bible studies for women with minimal commentary to help the women exercise the skill and grow in confidence that they could study God's Word for themselves. I believe women’s Bible studies provide opportunities—not only for deep personal study but also for meaningful conversation and community with other women on the same journey.
